Despite deteriorating regional economic conditions, the Sacramento Region remained in a familiar place toward the bottom of the list of main competitors on the first quarter 2009 update to the Prosperity Index Business component
 
The updated Sacramento Region Business Forecast shows that the Sacramento Region’s economy will likely continue to weaken over the next 12 months with no significant improvements expected in this time period
 
The Sacramento Region Business Confidence Index for the first quarter of 2009 measured 37, demonstrating that business confidence in the Sacramento Region is rather low and suggesting that weak economic conditions could persist in the short-term
